Looking for ways to pay down debt quickly? Whether you’re in a financial bind or simply looking to get back on track to financial freedom, this will help!
Before we begin, can I tell you a secret? My household debt totals nearly $200,000.
Yep, you read that right, there are five zeros there.
I want to share another secret with you, though and thatโs how Iโve paid off over $10,000 of my debt in the last two months and my journey toward financial freedom.
How to Pay Down Debt Quickly
Things I didn’t do: win the lottery, sell a kidney (or a child), rob a bank, or become a drug lord.
In fact, our household only nets $4,000/month between our two “real” (out of the house) jobs. Despite this, we are well on our way to becoming debt-free!
Over the course of a week I shared a new tip every day so you too can get a huge jump start on your adventure to get out of debt!
Check out the sections here:

Wow! That’s amazing! We’ve been wanting to start Dave Ramsey’s debt free challenge for the last several months, but each month ends the same – tried to start, haven’t started = wheels turning.
Well hopefully this series will provide you with the extra little bit of motivation you need to get started! ๐
Looking very forward to this.
I’m glad! I am, too. I’m super excited to share it with everyone!
My wife and I recently paid off $23,000 in less than 4 months! It takes a lot of work, but it definitely is worth it. Like you, we started with almost $200,000 in debt as our journey began and are now working to pay it down by 2019 (that”s our big goal), but I’m impressed that you’re going for 2018! I’ll definitely be following your journey. ๐
That is so awesome!! You know I follow your site as well and we definitely have quite a lot in common. I’m excited for the both of us as we wrangle our financial states into submission!
I’m always surprised at how much you and I have in common. I love it. ๐ Looking forward to see what your new tips are!
I can not wait!!!!!
Me neither!! I’m super excited to share with everyone!
The first step is due to go live at 6 a.m.
I scheduled it because I’m living on the dream that my oh-so-sweet two year old will sleep in. Heh a mom can dream, right?
That’s so exciting! A lot of work – but totally worth it!
It really hasn’t been as hard as you might think. The biggest “time suck” has been developing this series to share with everyone! heh Fortunately it’s something I VERY much enjoy, so it’s been well worth the time.
That’s an inspiring number. Wow, good for you!
thank you for all the information, idk if my little brain can get it all, but i am thankful for reading it
Aww don’t say that! I have no doubt ANYONE can get it, it’s just a matter of breaking it down and working through it at your own pace. If you need help or have questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail me at [email protected] and I’d be happy to get you started!
What a great idea Amber – it’s wonderful that you’ve made such a big start on your debt and can see the end of the tunnel in a couple of year’s time. We are debt free after being frugal and paying our mortgage off as quickly as we could. We aren’t extravagant and it means we can work less and enjoy life in our 50’s. You’ll be there even sooner than we were!
Wow – what awesome progress! Becoming debt-free by 2018 is a great goal and I have no doubt that you will hit it with your discipline and hard work! Very inspirational.
Sounds like you’ve made really good progress with a lot of hard work.
We have! And as I continue to develop my online brand, I’m hoping to pay off the rest of our debt even sooner. It’ll happen eventually and that’s not something I thought I’d ever say…
That’s a lot of work! Congratulations!
Thanks so much!
This is definitely something I will be looking into! We are newly into our debt payoff journey, and it’s inspiring to see others who are well on their way. Thanks so much for sharing and offering such a valuable resource!
